LAST EVENING
As I mentioned yesterday our "go-to" lounge was closed until 9:30pm due to Canadian rules. So we had room service deliver our canapes to the suite. I asked Kadek to have them delivered at 6:00 but they showed up at 5:59. Great service!! We could not eat them all. At 6:30 we headed down to Compass Rose for dinner.
They always bring an assortment of different breads and rolls but I told Nick last night that I only like the baguette bread. He remembered and brought just what I like. This appetizer had a weird French name so I asked Meldin what it was. He had to go ask the chef and came back saying it was muscles in a cream sauce. It is actually one of our favorites. In the past I have ordered 3 of these. Very yummy! Next I had cream of cauliflower and potato soup with a piece of chicken in it. I forgot to take a photo until after I ate it. Served hot and very good.
Pasta of the day was this orecchiette pasta with baby clams in a champagne cream sauce. This was Rebecca's entree for dinner. I had one as an appetizer. I saved part of it to go with my entree below.
I had this veal piccata over a bed of polenta. They said this was New York cheesecake. No way! Just cheesecake.
Compass Rose was PACKED!! I have never seen it that full. The specialty restaurants: Prime 7, Sette Mari, Chartreuse, and Pacific Rim must have been wide open.
We finished dinner at 8:30 and did not want to wait another hour for the show so headed back to the suite. I was asleep as soon as I het the bed.
TODAY
Up at 7:15. Sunny skies but some smoke haze for the Canadian wildfires. I could faintly smell some during the night from ship's air conditioning. 52 degrees just like yesterday morning early but will warm up nicely later.
The red box is a 30 piece box of Leonidas candy which is part of our Diamond benefits. We don't eat candy any more and do not want to tote it home. So we always send it down to the ship's laundry team. Believe me, they appreciate it.

At 10:10 I left the ship for a walk in the city. This is a long promenade along the St Lawrence River and docks.
This is the Montreal Museum of Archaeology and History..

Rent a bike
Great idea. Chairs along promenade for resting.
Not sure what this building is.

Never seen a flowering plant like this.
Customs building Hotel St Paul
This is a very large bank. Some of the many skyscrapers.
Statue of Queen Victoria.
Lots of bicycles. I've heard of dog walkers but two wagons full of kids??? Six kids in each wagon. The streets have bike lanes on both sides of the street.
Nice place to sit and watch the port.
Photos of our "home". I finally got a descent photo of the Canadian flag.
I was back on the ship at 11:10, exactly an hour later. It was a nice walk. I wore a light jacket which I took off half way during the walk. This afternoon it is a lovely 72 degrees and the smoke is gone.
After getting back I got cleaned up for the day and did some blog work before heading up to La Veranda for lunch.
Same menu as a few days ago but a favorite. I had the bouillabaisse (fish stew), roasted chicken thigh, and veal condon bleu. Not long after we returned to our suite Frances, housekeeping supervisor, brought us some beautiful, fresh flowers. We had never seen this color of rose before.
After lunch we watched yesterday's soap, "Bold & Beautiful", stream on Paramount Plus. She is doing her nails now while I finish today's blog post.
We will be sailing again at 6pm. All the lounges and restaurant bars will be open again after leaving this Canadian port. Hooray! The Captain's Welcome Reception is in the theater at 6pm. I'm guessing he will try to sail early again this evening. He is suppose to be at the Reception to introduce the senior officers and staff. We will not be attending it but will head to the Meridian Lounge for our cocktail hour.
We have a 7pm dinner reservation in Prime 7, the steak specialty restaurant. Here is both sides of the menu.
Tonight's show is a production cast show, "Divos & Divas". We saw it last segment but plan to attend it again as it's a very good show.
We are to be docked again in Quebec City tomorrow by 6:00. I have a tour in the afternoon. I hope the weather there is better than our first stop there a few days ago.
