At long last we are on our way!! Mike picked us up at The Tradition at 2:15. We have used him before as he only charges $50 (I give him $10 tip also) and has a nice SUV. We arrived at DFW at 2:50 with very little traffic enroute or to get to our terminal. Mike dropped us right outside the entrance with our "priority" check-in just inside.
No wait to get our bags checked and then on to TSA check.
No wait at TSA either so on to the American Airlines Admirals Club we went.
Our departure gate (A21) was right after we exited TSA and our aircraft was already sitting at the gate. It had arrived from JFK airport at 12:30. Our departure time is 5:30. We will be flying on a very nice Boeing 787-900. One of AAL's newer aircraft. Nice to know our aircraft is here waiting for us. Looks like the weather will hold too as there were passing thunderstorms this morning.
We are not members of the Admirals club but as business class international passenger we got access. It was PACKED and had a hard time finding seats. It is a huge club but was full.
We had a glass of very bad chardonnay to "cool our jets" while waiting to head down to the gate for boarding. We will leave here at 4:30 for our 5:30 departure.
Not sure if American is offering free internet yet on their planes but it is in the works. If so, I will add to this post once on board. If not, next post will be from Barcelona. Scheduled landing time is 10:10am on 21st.
